Mountaineers gear up for Duke with 89-61 win over Temple

The WVU women's basketball team improved to 3-0 with their third consecutive lopsided victory, defeating Temple 89-61 in what coach Mark Kellogg called "the game before the game." The Mountaineers showed no signs of looking ahead to their upcoming showdown with Duke, posting season-bests in points (89) and shooting percentage. The team was led by Gia Cooke and Sydney Shaw, who each scored 16 points, with Shaw also adding 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jordan Harrison achieved a career milestone, surpassing 500 assists. Kellogg praised his team's offensive execution and his staff's preparation, as they handled prep for the game while he missed a practice for a family emergency. Despite the strong offensive outing, Kellogg noted the team "haven't put a whole game together," particularly on the defensive end. WVU now faces its toughest non-conference challenge: a sold-out game against No. 15 Duke at The Greenbrier.
