In their second game of the season, the West Virginia Mountaineers moved to 2-0 with a hard-fought 73-65 victory over Campbell, a matchup that provided significantly more "scoreboard pressure" than their season-opening win. Although WVU built a 33-25 halftime lead, thanks in large part to 10 first-half points from senior forward Treysen Eaglestaff, the Camels relentlessly fought back, cutting the deficit to just one point early in the second half and remaining within four points with 90 seconds to play. Senior guard Honor Huff, who led the country in three-pointers last season, took over late, scoring 16 of his game-high 23 points after halftime to secure the win. Brenen Lorient was also a key contributor with a dozen points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots. Head coach Ross Hodge praised his team's ability to handle the "game pressure" and "grind it out," noting that while the team is still learning to play together, "we are certainly not going to ever apologize for winning."
