History was made at the WVSSAC Boys Track & Field State Championships.
Doddridge County defended its Class AA state championship in dominant fashion, while
Morgantown and Huntington finished tied atop the first-ever Class AAAA state meet.
The Bulldogs piled up 142 points to secure the program’s 13th boys track state championship, highlighted by a 1-2-3 finish in the pole vault and another title from Tommy Walters-Hickman in the long jump.
Wahama captured the Class A championship behind victories from Reezin Stitt, Charlie Long, and Trace Simpkins.
Point Pleasant moved up to Class AAA and immediately claimed another title, powered by event wins from Caden Hill, Cohen McDaniel, and Evan Bailes.
In Class AAAA, Morgantown and Huntington finished deadlocked at 107 points after the final event of the meet. Morgantown got wins from Joaquin Summers and Benjamin Funk, while Huntington answered with relay victories and a title from Carter Geveke.
The 2026 state championships featured standout performances, relay drama, and unforgettable finishes across all four classifications.
