Boys State Track Day 1: Wahama, Doddridge, Keyser & University lead the way

Championship races are heating up after Day 1 of the WVSSAC Boys State Track & Field Championships in Charleston.
Wahama leads Class A after winning three events Friday, including victories from Hunter Miller in the discus, Nate Harris in the pole vault, and the White Falcons’ shuttle hurdle relay team.
Defending Class AA champion Doddridge County sits atop the standings after a late push in the shuttle hurdle relay, while Williamstown remains close behind after winning the 4×800 relay and discus.
Keyser surged to the front in Class AAA behind victories from Luca Altobello in the 3200 meter run and Dominik Crawford in the long jump.
In Class AAAA, University holds a narrow lead entering the final day after Micah Gainer captured the 3200 meter title. Morgantown trails closely behind after winning the high jump and the 4×800 relay.
The inaugural four-class WVSSAC State Track Championships continue Saturday with team titles and individual championships still up for grabs.
