AAAA Chip (Girls 2024): Wheeling Park vs. Morgantown
Season 6, Episode 1

Sports
The Morgantown High girls' basketball team's quest for a state championship fell short as they were defeated by Wheeling Park 65-51 in the Class AAAA final. Wheeling Park's impressive 50% shooting from the field, led by Alexis Bordas's 22 points and Natalie Daugherty's 19, proved too much for the Mohigans. Despite a valiant effort from freshman Kayli Kellogg, who scored 22 points, including four three-pointers, and a late second-quarter surge that brought Morgantown within one point at halftime, Wheeling Park's defense stifled their offense in the second half. Kellogg and senior Sofia Wassick earned all-tournament honors, with Bordas named MVP. Wheeling Park's victory marked their first state championship since 1999, while the Mohigans concluded their season with an 18-9 record and bid farewell to four graduating seniors.
