Fairmont Senior extended its winning streak over Preston to 23 games with a dominant 63-13 victory. Although the game was close at 14-7 late in the second quarter, the Polar Bears exploded for 21 points in the final five minutes of the half to take a commanding 35-7 lead. This surge was highlighted by a pair of touchdown passes from sophomore quarterback Anthony Smith in the final minute, set up by a successful pooch kick and a subsequent fumble recovery. Coach Mark Sampson praised the significant improvement in offensive communication and execution from week one, as Smith finished with 243 passing yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to Jason Walker. The Polar Bears also showcased a powerful ground attack, rushing for 329 yards, with Tarran Boda and Christian Hrapchak both surpassing the 100-yard mark. Now 2-0 on the season, Fairmont Senior will host undefeated county rival North Marion in Week 4.
