Top-seeded Madonna defeated Webster County 13-3 in six innings to advance to the Class A state championship game. Madonna's starting pitcher, Jacob Lazear, dominated with 15 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. After a scoreless start, Madonna broke the game open with five runs in the fourth inning, aided by a balk and an error. Webster County's freshman pitcher Maddox Brown pitched well early, but the Highlanders' offense struggled against Lazear. Although Webster scored three runs in the sixth, Madonna responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning, triggering the mercy rule. Madonna coach TJ Miller praised Lazear's performance and the team's offensive adjustments, while Webster coach Jerry Skidmore acknowledged Lazear's pitching and expressed optimism for his young team's future.
