Frankfort is back on top in Class AA.
University of Charleston signee Lanson Orndorf delivered a championship performance in the final game of his high school career, leading the Falcons to a 5-2 victory over Logan in the WVSSAC Class AA State Championship Game.
Orndorf tossed a complete game, allowing just three hits while striking out eight batters as Frankfort captured its second state title in the last three seasons.
Logan grabbed an early 2-0 lead, but the Falcons responded with five unanswered runs. Carson Durst drove in a run with a single, Braeden Laffey added a sacrifice fly, and Orndorf delivered a key RBI triple as Frankfort seized control of the game.
The championship caps an outstanding career for Orndorf, who also threw a complete-game victory in the quarterfinal round and helped lead the Falcons to another state crown.
Frankfort finishes the season at 27-7 and adds another championship trophy to the program's storied history.
