MHS closes in on a state tournament berth with a 7-0 win over Wheeling Park

Morgantown is one win away from the state tournament after a dominant 7-0 victory over Wheeling Park in Class AAAA North Region play.
Senior pitcher Maddie Wisman was in complete control, allowing just four hits while striking out eleven in a complete game shutout. The Patriots managed to put only four runners in scoring position all game.
After three scoreless innings, the Mohigans broke through in the fourth. Grace Robinson and Beth Robinson delivered RBI hits as Morgantown plated three runs to take control.
MHS added four more runs in the sixth inning to put the game away. Hayley Street highlighted the frame with a two-run triple, while Caroline Mallow added an RBI single. Street, Mallow, and Kayleigh White each recorded two hits in the win.
Morgantown improves to 20-10 and remains perfect against Wheeling Park this season at 3-0.
The Mohigans will host Jefferson on Wednesday at 5:30 PM, with a state tournament berth on the line.
