Chapmanville delivered a stellar performance to secure a repeat Class AA state championship, defeating Fairmont Senior 60-46. Coach Brad Napier praised his team's near-perfect execution of their game plan, highlighting the dominant presence of 6-foot-9 center Obinna Anochili-Killen, who nearly achieved a triple-double. Despite an early Fairmont Senior lead, Chapmanville quickly took control, led by Anochili-Killen's defensive prowess and Andrew Shull's sharp shooting. The Tigers maintained a consistent lead, withstanding Fairmont Senior's third-quarter rally thanks to key plays from Devin Collins. Chapmanville's efficient offense, shooting 46.2% from the field and converting 21-of-25 free throws, coupled with minimal turnovers, proved too much for Fairmont Senior's struggling offense. Collins led the Tigers with 17 points, while Jalen Bridges topped Fairmont Senior with 17. The game marked the end of a successful era for Fairmont Senior's seniors, who had competed in five consecutive state title games. Chapmanville's cohesive play and defensive strength secured their championship victory.
