On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the WVSSAC Boys Basketball State Tournament continues from the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, with a full slate of quarterfinals and semifinals set to shape Championship Saturday.
The day opens with a Class AAAA quarterfinal matchup between defending state champion Spring Mills and University High. Spring Mills is led by Akwasi Opoku-Achampong, who averages 19.7 points per game, while University counters with Luke Byrer, averaging 14.7 points per contest.
In the Class A semifinals, Tucker County meets Tug Valley for the ninth time in three years. Tug Valley enters riding a four-game win streak in the series, led by Brayden Farris, who is closing in on the 2,000-point milestone.
