The Patriots jumped out early, building a 6-0 lead behind a strong offensive showing that included a two-run home run from Connor Smith in the fourth inning.
RCB answered with a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run double from Xavier Carvelli to cut into the deficit.
Washington responded again in the sixth, sending ten batters to the plate and scoring five runs to take control at 11-4.
The Eagles made one final push in the seventh when Cooper Floyd launched a three-run home run to bring RCB within three runs. But Washington sealed the win with a clutch defensive play, as Sven Dupree snagged a line drive and turned a game-ending double play.
Smith, Dupree, and Marshall Derrick each recorded three hits for Washington, while Smith and Derrick drove in three runs apiece. Floyd led RCB with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Washington improves to 15-9 with the win.
