West Virginia secured another Big 12 series victory with a 7-3 win over Houston in the rubber game at Kendrick Family Ballpark.
Chansen Cole led the way with a dominant outing, tossing five no-hit innings while striking out five batters and allowing just two walks. Battling through illness, Cole delivered an efficient 68-pitch performance to earn his sixth win of the season.
The Mountaineers built an early lead with runs in the first, second, and fourth innings before breaking the game open late. Brodie Kresser powered WVU with a two-run home run in the fifth, while Matthew Graveline added a solo shot in the sixth. Sean Smith contributed an RBI single as part of a balanced offensive effort.
WVU’s bullpen closed the door, combining to allow just two hits over the final four innings to secure the series victory.
West Virginia improves to 27-9 (12-6 Big 12) and continues to show resilience, winning the series after dropping Friday’s opener.
