The Greenbrier East Spartans completed a perfect season, defeating East Fairmont 57-51 to capture the WVSSAC Class AAA Girls Basketball State Championship at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.

Greenbrier East struck first as Kayla Waller knocked down a corner three to give the Spartans an early lead. East Fairmont answered with strong perimeter shooting from Kacie Rogers, who finished with a game-high 21 points to keep the Bees within striking distance.

The Spartans built momentum late in the first quarter as Kennedy Stewart set up McKenna McClure for a key basket, helping Greenbrier East take a 17-10 lead after one.

East Fairmont battled back in the second quarter behind a three-pointer from Emma Moore, trimming the deficit to a single point before Stewart responded with a clutch three to push the Spartans back in front.

In the second half, Hannah Fuller took control of the game. After battling foul trouble early, Fuller sparked a major run for Greenbrier East, scoring key baskets inside while dominating the glass. Fuller finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Spartans.

East Fairmont stayed within reach behind Rogers and a late basket from Mackenzie Shoup, but Greenbrier East maintained control down the stretch. A late drive by Ava Workman helped seal the victory.

With the win, Greenbrier East finishes the season undefeated at 27-0, securing the WVSSAC Class AAA Girls Basketball State Championship.
