In a battle of Patriots in the WVSSAC Class Quad A Semifinals, George Washington pulled away from Washington for a 71-57 victory at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
George Washington was powered by Noah Lewis, who delivered a game-high 32 points after setting a state tournament record the night before. The Patriots built separation in the third quarter behind key contributions from Kaden Welch, Dominic Sprouse, and Chuck Kelly.
Washington stayed within striking distance early, led by Josiah King and Chet Gore, but a decisive second-half run by GW proved too much to overcome.
With the win, George Washington advances to the Class Quad A State Championship, where they will face Morgantown or Spring Mills.
