In a hard-fought Little Kanawha Conference matchup, defending state champions St. Marys handed previously undefeated Doddridge County their first loss of the season with a 3-2 victory in nine innings. St. Marys took an early 2-0 lead thanks to Ella Bullman scoring twice on groundouts after reaching base with a single and a triple. Doddridge County narrowed the gap in the fourth and then tied the game in the top of the seventh with an infield single that allowed a runner to score. After a scoreless eighth, Autumn Mossor ultimately scored the winning run for St. Marys in the bottom of the ninth on a wild pitch after reaching base with a single and advancing on a double. Cali Masters pitched a dominant complete game for St. Marys, striking out 19 batters and allowing only three hits, while Brylee McGrady led the offense with three hits, including two doubles.
