Game Highlights: Petersburg vs. Moorefield

Top-seeded Petersburg defeated rival Moorefield 8-0 in five innings in a Class AA Region II, Section 1 tournament game. Pitcher Gracie Carpenter was dominant, allowing only one hit and one walk. Petersburg's offense was strong early, with Ella Markwell hitting a three-run home run in the first inning and Miley Tingler adding a two-run double in the second. Petersburg will now host the winner of the Moorefield-Philip Barbour elimination game for the sectional championship. Coach Hedrick noted the team's improving offense and their goal of returning to the state tournament. Game played on 3/7/25
