One of West Virginia’s most explosive offenses takes center stage as unbeaten University hosts Linsly for the MetroNews Television Week 6 Game of the Week, sponsored by GoMart.

University enters at 5-0 and has established itself as one of the state’s top teams behind an offense averaging 57.8 points per game, the second-highest mark in West Virginia. Quarterback Harrison Helbig has powered the Hawks’ fast start, throwing for more than 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns through five games. One of his top targets has been Hayden George, who already has 11 touchdown receptions as University continues its pursuit of the first state championship in program history.

Linsly comes to Morgantown at 2-2 and will face a West Virginia opponent for the first time this season. After opening with losses to Ohio powers Girard and Steubenville, the Cadets have responded with back-to-back victories over St. Clairsville and Mogadore. Head coach B.J. Depew now brings his team across the state line looking to hand University its first loss of the season.

It’s the first-ever meeting between Linsly and University — an unbeaten Hawks team with one of the state’s most prolific offenses against a Linsly squad riding the momentum of consecutive wins.

Watch Linsly at University live from Mylan Pharmaceuticals Stadium in Morgantown on Friday, October 2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on MetroNews Television, YouTube and Facebook, with Eli Brady and Coach Nick Bartic on the call.
