Top-seeded Chapmanville powered its way into the Class AAA state championship game with a commanding 72-47 win over Winfield in the semifinals on Friday, March 20, 2026.

After a competitive first quarter, Chapmanville took control with a dominant second-quarter run, creating separation they would not relinquish. Jay Brock led the way with a game-high 19 points, while Benji Adkins controlled the interior and helped fuel multiple scoring runs.

Dakota Dalton added 15 points, knocking down five three-pointers, and Kai Martin contributed 15 points with strong play in the lane. Keaton Terry also chipped in 17 points as the Tigers showcased a balanced offensive attack.

Winfield was led by Owen Taylor with 16 points, while Owen Jones and Cameron Burks provided key moments throughout.

Chapmanville’s defense and depth proved too much, as the Tigers pulled away in the second half to secure their spot in the championship game.

Chapmanville will now face Bridgeport or North Marion in the Class AAA state championship on Saturday night.
