The standard remains high in Cameron.
After reaching the Class A state championship game in 2024 and the semifinals in 2025, the Dragons enter the 2026 season determined to make another deep postseason run.
Head coach Tim Brown believes the program's continued success starts with strong development through Cameron's youth football system, while several key players return after battling injuries a season ago.
Senior Marshall Holland is back after rushing for more than 1,700 yards and 21 total touchdowns, while standout athlete Soier Reed prepares to take over at quarterback. With experienced leaders returning on both sides of the ball, Cameron believes it has the pieces to compete for another state title.
The challenge begins immediately. The Dragons open the season against defending semifinal opponent Clay-Battelle in the WVSSAC Kickoff Classic before facing one of the toughest schedules in Class A.
