Cameron collects 20th victory, rallying past Trinity, 7-3

GRANVILLE, W.Va. — Cameron delivered a clutch late-game surge, scoring five runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Trinity 7-3 at Kendrick Family Ballpark, home of the West Virginia Mountaineers baseball.
The Dragons (20-5) sent nine batters to the plate in the decisive inning, turning a 3-2 deficit into a statement win and extending their in-state winning streak to 14 games.
After an early injury to starting pitcher Hunter Evans, Zayde Long stepped in on short notice and delivered a dominant performance, striking out 11 batters over six innings while allowing just three runs.
Cameron’s rally began with a game-tying RBI single from Soier Reed before pinch hitter Bryer Blake came through with a go-ahead hit. The Dragons added three more runs in the inning to pull away for good.
Talen Brown led Cameron with three hits, while Reed and Kason Angel each scored twice. Ike Yoho closed the door in the seventh to secure the win.
Trinity (9-8) was led by Nathan Adams with two hits, while Parker Hopkins struck out seven batters in a strong outing on the mound.
