North Marion is headed to the state championship for the first time since 1999.
In a Big Ten Conference battle in the WVSSAC Class AAA Semifinals, North Marion jumped out early and controlled the game to defeat Bridgeport 62-46 at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
The Huskies set the tone in the first quarter behind Connor Balwin and Eli Ramsey, building a double-digit lead they would never relinquish.
North Marion continued to extend its advantage in the second half with strong performances from Jacob Kucish and Maddox Batson.
Bridgeport fought back behind Anderson McDougle and Arian Dodd, but could not overcome the early deficit.
North Marion now advances to the Class AAA State Championship, where they will face Chapmanville.
Final Score: North Marion 62, Bridgeport 46
