The 2025 WV High School Football season has entered week #3 of what will be an eleven-week regular season schedule. Through the first two weeks, we have seen our share of surprising scores and, last week, we were treated with several weather delays around the state that saw three games, paused on Friday night because of lightning, of which two of them, Nitro at St. Albans and Herbert Hoover at Winfield, were completed at 11 am this past Saturday and, the third game, Lincoln at South Harrison finally was completed at 6 pm this past Monday evening! In all three games, the team that was leading when the games were suspended went on to win the game!
I expect week #3 to be just as exciting as the games go, and the good news is the weather does not seem to be a factor this week. Plus, we will be watching several great matchups, including Wheeling Central at Williamstown, Beckley Woodrow Wilson at Parkersburg South, which will be the Patriots' first home game on their brand-new turf, and we will also be tuned in to Spring Valley at Huntington!
Join us for action from across the state on High School GameNight, this Friday from 9:30 PM to Midnight on MetroNews Television!
