A new era begins at Wheeling Park.
After back-to-back Class AAAA quarterfinal appearances, the Patriots turn the page following the graduation of Curt Warner Award winner Brennan Wack. But head coach Chris Daugherty believes this year's team has the talent and experience to remain among the state's top contenders.
Third-year starting quarterback Jay Bordas returns after throwing 30 touchdown passes over the past two seasons and is expected to lead a more balanced Patriot offense. Hunter Miller headlines a running back committee, while Preston Heatherington, Liam Wetzel, Tatum Justice, and standout defensive back Michael Neider provide experienced playmakers on both sides of the ball.
With one of the toughest schedules in Class AAAA awaiting, Wheeling Park believes its young roster will continue to improve as the season unfolds.
