Robert C. Byrd remained unbeaten with an impressive 42-14 victory over Keyser in the MetroNews Television Game of the Week at Flying Eagle Stadium in Clarksburg.
Quarterback Isaiah Heflin powered the Eagles on the ground and through the air, completing 12-of-16 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 133 yards and three more scores. RCB finished with 441 yards of total offense in the victory.
Junior Smith continued his strong start to the season with eight receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown. Colton Lindsay added a rushing score, while Heflin connected with Deegan Barnett for a 27-yard touchdown on fourth down to extend the Eagles’ advantage.
Keyser quarterback Addison Brafford provided one of the Golden Tornado’s biggest plays with a 21-yard touchdown run in the second half. Dominik Crawford also intercepted Heflin in the first quarter, but RCB’s offense and defense controlled the game as it progressed.
The victory moved Robert C. Byrd to 3-0 for the first time since 2021, while Keyser suffered its first loss of the season.
