Ian Korn delivered his longest outing of the season, tossing six shutout innings to lead West Virginia to a 2-0 win over TCU in the opening game of their final regular season series.
The Mountaineers (36-12, 20-8 Big 12) extended their conference winning streak to seven games, keeping pressure on Kansas Jayhawks baseball in the race for the regular season title.
Korn allowed six hits, did not walk a batter and struck out six to improve to 5-0 on the season. Carson Estridge closed the door with a three-inning save, allowing just one hit.
West Virginia scored both runs in the second inning. Matthew Graveline delivered an RBI double before scoring on a sacrifice fly from Brodie Kresser.
TCU (32-19, 16-12 Big 12) out-hit WVU 7-4, but could not capitalize against strong pitching and defense from the Mountaineers.
With two games remaining, West Virginia trails Kansas by one game in the Big 12 standings.
