George Washington remained perfect with a 31-14 homecoming victory over defending Class AAA champion Princeton, improving to 6-0 on the 2026 season.
The Patriots struck first behind quarterback Desean Isabell, who broke free for a 29-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter before adding another rushing score to help GW build a 14-0 advantage.
Princeton responded just before halftime. Quarterback Jake Belcher kept the drive alive with a fourth-and-17 scramble before R.J. Coatney powered into the end zone on the final play of the half, cutting the deficit to 14-7.
The Tigers tied the game early in the third quarter when Belcher found Alex Cox for a touchdown, but George Washington quickly took control.
DJ Spencer intercepted Belcher and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown, giving the Patriots a 21-14 lead they would never relinquish.
Teddy Smith added a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, Jericho Henry came up with GW's third interception of the game, and Jaden Black finished things off with a 24-yard touchdown run.
George Washington’s defense forced three interceptions as the Patriots pulled away for the 31-14 victory, handing Princeton its second consecutive loss.
