History has been made—but the Colts believe there's another level to reach.
After back-to-back Class AA quarterfinal appearances, Philip Barbour broke through in 2025 with a program-record 10 wins and the school's first-ever state semifinal appearance. Now, head coach Nick Mayle is challenging his team to avoid complacency and continue building on the most successful era in program history.
Junior quarterback Robbie Jones returns after throwing 19 touchdown passes and enters the season stronger than ever, while standout running back Landyn Carpenter is back after rushing for 1,726 yards and 18 touchdowns in his first season back on the football field. Defensive leader Mason Jones anchors a Colts defense that expects to remain one of the best in Class AA.
With key playmakers returning and valuable postseason experience already in place, Philip Barbour has its sights set on something the program has never accomplished—a trip to the Super Six state championship.
