Union Local remained unbeaten with a 24-13 victory over Wheeling Central Catholic, handing the Maroon Knights their third consecutive loss.
Running back Brody Perzanowski powered the Jets, scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 221 yards. He opened the game with a 73-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, then added a 43-yard receiving score from Evan Poziviak and a 5-yard touchdown run in the second half.
Wheeling Central found a spark on special teams when freshman Wyatt Stephens returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 14-7 at halftime.
Union Local extended its advantage in the second half, including a 32-yard field goal from Jeff Bolon, before Dustin Sanner scored on a 13-yard run to pull the Maroon Knights within 24-13.
The Jets then controlled the final six minutes to close out the victory and improve to 5-0.
Wheeling Central falls to 1-3, with its three losses coming against teams with a combined 12-1 record.
