St. Albans beats Spring Valley to secure a spot in the MSAC final, 7-6

St. Albans pulled off dramatic late-inning magic at GoMart Ballpark, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk off Spring Valley, 7-6, and punch their ticket to the Mountain State Athletic Conference Championship Game.
Down to their final out, the Red Dragons rallied as their last four batters reached base. With the bases loaded, Gavin Comer delivered the game-winning RBI single, bringing home Gavin Grisby for the walk-off victory.
Spring Valley erased a 4-1 deficit by scoring five runs in the top of the sixth inning, taking a 6-4 lead behind Brody Spencer’s two-run single. But St. Albans answered in the seventh with clutch at-bats and patient plate appearances to complete the comeback.
Braxton Burke went 3-for-3 and reached base in all five plate appearances for the Red Dragons, while Comer also earned the win in relief.
St. Albans advances to face Cabell Midland in Saturday’s MSAC Championship Game.
