Morgantown is headed back to the state tournament.
The Mohigans became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2026 Class AAAA State Tournament with an 11-3 victory over Spring Mills in the North Region co-final.
MHS exploded for five runs in the opening inning and never looked back, securing their third consecutive trip to the state tournament after finishing as state runner-up a season ago.
Jackson Bredeson reached base in all four plate appearances and later came on in relief to record the final 11 outs. Kane Williams drove in three runs, while Luca Mezzanotte and Kai Henkins each added two RBIs.
WVU signee Slade Barton started on the mound before exiting early as a precautionary move due to injury.
Spring Mills stayed alive behind a home run from Jake Anderson, but Morgantown closed the door late to improve to 27-5 on the season.
