Independence delivered one of the biggest statements of the 2026 season, rolling past previously unbeaten Frankfort 49-14 and ending the Falcons’ remarkable 36-game winning streak.
Quarterback Brock Green led an explosive Patriots offense, throwing for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns while adding two more scores on the ground.
One of Green’s biggest weapons was KJ Viars, who delivered several spectacular catches, including a one-handed grab along the sideline before later hauling in a touchdown. Viars finished with 140 receiving yards and a score.
Carson Treadway also broke free behind the Frankfort defense for a long touchdown reception as Independence repeatedly created explosive plays through the air.
Frankfort answered with touchdowns from Jake Snurr and Carson McBee, but the Falcons could not keep pace with the Patriots’ offense.
Frankfort briefly created momentum when Antonio Ottaviani intercepted Green, but Independence immediately got the football back and continued to pull away.
Green later connected with Konner James for another long touchdown before Jacob Grimmett capped the scoring with a late rushing touchdown.
The victory improves Independence to 6-2 and brings Frankfort’s historic run to an end at 36 consecutive victories.
