In a high-stakes regional showdown, the Gilmer County Titans secured a commanding 9-1 victory over the 2025 state runner-up Wahama White Falcons. Sophomore pitcher Kenley Hartshorn delivered a gritty performance in the circle, striking out six and allowing no walks over five innings, despite taking a line drive to the arm early in the game. This significant win serves as redemption for the Titans, who saw their previous season end in a heartbreaking one-run loss to Wahama during the sectional tournament.
The Titans’ offense was relentless, plating runs in every inning and racking up 12 total hits. The bottom of the order proved lethal, as No. 9 hitter Erin Stoddard went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs, effectively acting as a second leadoff. Alexis Stoddard added three hits of her own, while Ariana White and Hartshorn contributed two hits apiece. Under Coach Wendell Tomblin, the undefeated Titans (4-0) have displayed elite defense and pitching, allowing only five runs across their first four games. Meanwhile, Marlee Carr drove in the lone run for Wahama (7-2), who struggled to find momentum against Hartshorn’s improving changeup and the Titans’ focused fielding.
