In a tense MSAC Championship game at GoMart Park in Charleston, West Virginia, George Washington's Chuck Kelley hit an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, securing a 1-0 victory for the Patriots over Hurricane. This single run was the only score of the game, with both starting pitchers, Ryan Bowman (Hurricane) and Slade Barton (GW), throwing six scoreless innings. Luke Gordon pitched a scoreless seventh for GW. The MSAC championship marks the first in school history for the Patriots, who didn't allow a run in the entire tournament. GW head coach Mike Davis praised his team's pitching and timely hitting, while acknowledging the strong competition from Hurricane.
