Philip Barbour, ranked No. 4, defeated No. 2 Petersburg 6-1, boosted by a four-run first inning and a strong complete-game pitching performance from Kale Wolfe. Wolfe allowed only one run on four hits, striking out five and starting two double plays. Philip Barbour scored four runs in the first inning with key hits from Landyn Carpenter, Kent Rowan, and Anthony Mosesso, and added two more in the third. Petersburg's only run came in the third. While Petersburg's Peyton Tingler settled in after a tough first inning, Wolfe's dominance on the mound secured the win for Philip Barbour, giving them an advantage for the top seed in the upcoming Class AA Region II tournament. This win marks Philip Barbour's fifth consecutive victory, while Petersburg has lost two of their last three after a strong start to the season.
