In a battle of unbeaten teams, Doddridge County overcame a 7-0 halftime deficit to defeat Petersburg 21-7 and improve to 5-0 on the season. Petersburg scored first on a 43-yard touchdown pass from Payton Metheny to Evan Tawney, a drive kept alive by a successful fake punt. The momentum shifted entirely in the third quarter when Doddridge County's Brandon Davis blocked a punt, leading to a 9-yard touchdown run by sophomore Lyric Blake. The Bulldogs took the lead for good in the fourth quarter with a 13-yard rushing touchdown from Brycen Eidel, followed by a 15-yard touchdown reception by Blake from quarterback Brysen Dixon to seal the victory. The win handed Petersburg (5-1) its first loss of the year in what Doddridge coach Bobby Burnside called a "battle for four quarters."
