In their season opener, Wheeling Park secured a 23-7 victory over Parkersburg South at Wheeling Island Stadium, relying on a stout defensive performance in the second half. The Patriots' offense was powered by 2024 Curt Warner Award winner Brennan Wack, who rushed for 231 yards and scored all three of the team's touchdowns, including a pivotal 55-yard run. The game's turning point came after Wheeling Park's defense made a goal-line stand at their own three-yard line, which led to a 97-yard scoring drive. Although Parkersburg South cut the lead to 14-7 in the third quarter, Wheeling Park answered quickly and later sealed the win with a safety. Head coach Chris Daugherty acknowledged it was an "ugly win," but praised his team's ability to make big stops and win a hard-fought contest to start the season.
