Coming up Friday, December 5th at high noon, it’s the State Championship game for the big school’s classification in the state! And the two teams vying for the title this season are as familiar with one another as they can be. The Morgantown Mohigans are the #1 seed in this tournament and the only blemish they have on their 2025 record so far belongs to their opponent, the Bulldogs of Martinsburg. It was on Friday, October 10th when Morgantown took their 6-0 record on the road to take on the 4-2 Bulldogs! When the Mohigans boarded the bus to head back across I-68, their record stood at 6-1 as they 34-6 to Martinsburg. Over the years, Morgantown and Martinsburg have met 32 times on the gridiron with the Bulldogs winning 18, including the last 15 in a row! Morgantown would love nothing better than to break that streak and win the school’s 6th football championship, and the first since 2005! For Martinsburg, they have been in the title game 15 times and have won 11, including the last two! So, as these two teams meet for the 33rd time, at stake is the Class AAAA State Football Championship and it promises to be must-see TV! The game kicks off at high noon, December 5th from the University of Charleston Stadium, Laidley Field in the Capital City!
