As far as playoff victories go, Wheeling Central has accumulated 70, and that is second to only Bridgeport who has 72! To take that one step further, Wheeling Central has appeared in 13 state championship games and has 12 titles! Their opponent in this Class A title game hales from Blacksville, WV, and the Cee-Bees of Clay Battelle are the #3 seed. They come into this championship game as the hottest team in the WV State High School Football Championships having won 12 games in a row and are sporting a (12-1) record. Clay Battelle lost their first game of the season to Cameron 22-16, and since then have done nothing but win! As far as playoff victories go, the Cee-Bees have 5, and this is the very first time the young men from Mon County have ever appeared in a Championship game!
