West Virginia defeated Utah 72-61 in a physical game at the Coliseum. The Mountaineers overcame a series of late runs from the Utes to secure their first home victory since defeating No. 2 Iowa State three weeks ago. Amani Hansberry led the way for WVU with 17 points, while Javon Small added 14. The Mountaineers held Utah to just 35 rebounds, despite facing one of the tallest front lines in the Big 12. With the win, WVU improved to 15-8 on the season and 6-6 in Big 12 play.
