Young group of Falcons to lead title defense at Frankfort
Sports
Last season, Head Coach Kevin Whiteman led the Frankfort Falcons to their first state championship, achieving an undefeated 14-0 season with every win by 20 points or more. Despite losing five first-team All-State players from their large senior class, the team is optimistic due to the experience gained by last year's substitutes and the hard work of younger players. A key focus for the upcoming season is finding new starting linemen, though the team boasts returning talent in senior RB/LB Carder Shanholtz, who rushed for over 1,200 yards and 18 touchdowns last year, along with Keiton Nestor, junior Braydn Tyler, and senior quarterback Blake Jacobs. Frankfort's schedule includes challenging new in-state opponents and Allegany from Maryland, but Whiteman maintains the program's consistent goals of a winning season, playoff appearance, and advancement, regardless of personnel changes.
