Walker eager to see younger Bulldogs step forward in latest title defense

Coming off another state championship season that culminated in a hard-fought 24-17 victory over rival Spring Mills, the Martinsburg Bulldogs are focused on reloading after graduating a decorated senior class. Head coach Dave Walker is eager to see a new group of leaders emerge, with the most prominent position battle at quarterback, where juniors Brian Dick and Ty Ricketts are competing to replace the state Player of the Year. The offense will feature key returning playmakers like junior receiver Boston Todd, who caught ten touchdowns last season. Despite significant personnel losses, the program remains confident in its depth, with players like linebacker Terrell Cofield and senior Michael Dillard ready to step into larger roles. This new-look Bulldogs team will face an immediate challenge with a tough opening schedule, hosting New Jersey quarterfinalist Camden in Week 1 before traveling to face 2024 state semifinalist Huntington.
