South Charleston continued its impressive start to the 2026 season with a dominant 49-7 road victory over Chapmanville.

The Black Eagles took a 35-7 lead into halftime before controlling the second half and adding two more touchdowns to improve to 2-0. South Charleston finished with 409 rushing yards as its ground game overwhelmed the Tigers.

Tramel Musgrove helped set the tone with a physical run across the field, while Trevaun Tyson powered his way into the end zone from a yard out in the third quarter.

Freshman Hamajae Martin then made the most of a late opportunity, breaking free for an 81-yard touchdown run to close the scoring. Martin finished with 100 rushing yards and a touchdown as part of a deep South Charleston backfield.

The 49-7 victory followed South Charleston's 67-0 season-opening win over Nitro, giving the Black Eagles consecutive victories for the first time since 2021.

Head coach Donnie Mays has made his goal clear: restore South Charleston to the standard that made the Black Eagles one of West Virginia's premier programs.
