George Washington advanced in the Class AAAA State Softball Tournament with a strong 6-1 victory over Parkersburg South in South Charleston.

The Patriots combined timely offense and a solid defensive effort to pull away and secure their spot in the winners bracket.

Parkersburg South battled throughout, but George Washington controlled the game and came away with the five-run win.
