Huntington captured the inaugural Class AAAA state championship with a 58–49 victory over Cabell Midland.

After a competitive first half, the Highlanders took control in the second half behind a big third quarter from Dionna Gray and clutch free-throw shooting from Kaitlyn Swann in the fourth.

LaTahia Jackson, Dionna Gray, and Kaitlyn Swann each scored 13 points for Huntington, while Imani Hickman added 11 rebounds in a strong all-around team performance.

Cabell Midland stayed within striking distance early, led by Jayda Allie’s 11 points, but struggled to maintain offensive momentum late as Huntington pulled away.

The victory marked Huntington’s third state championship and first since 2017, while also making them the first-ever Class AAAA girls basketball champions.
