Frankfort extended one of the longest winning streaks in West Virginia high school football, scoring 20 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Wahama, 55-27.
The Falcons improve to 8-0 and have now won 36 consecutive games, while handing Wahama its first regular-season loss since the 2021 season finale.
Frankfort struck just 20 seconds into the game when Cole Shanholtz scored on a 20-yard touchdown run. Shanholtz suffered an ankle injury on the play and did not return, but the Falcons found production throughout their deep backfield.
Wahama answered behind Trace Simpkins, who scored on a 1-yard run before connecting with Cooper Roush for touchdown passes of 40 and 41 yards. Reezin Stitt added a kickoff return touchdown as the White Falcons kept pace during a wild first half.
Frankfort responded with touchdown runs from Austin Twigg, Gunnar Bradshaw and Jake Snurr, taking a 35-27 lead into halftime.
The second half belonged entirely to Frankfort.
The Falcons shut out Wahama over the final two quarters while Twigg broke free for a 62-yard touchdown and Braydn Tyler added scoring runs of 9 and 78 yards to put the game away.
Head coach Kevin Whiteman credited his team for remaining calm at halftime, making adjustments and eventually wearing down a Wahama team that entered the matchup unbeaten.
The loss ends Wahama’s remarkable 47-game regular-season winning streak, while Frankfort moves another step closer to completing its third consecutive undefeated regular season.
The Falcons now turn their attention to a Week 10 matchup against Independence.
