As we enter semifinal play in the 2025 High School Football Playoffs, the young men from Doddridge County High School will put their current undefeated mark on the line against a very talented and likewise undefeated team in the Frankfort Falcons! This Friday night, these two ball clubs will meet for the first time on the gridiron and stakes could not be higher. The winner of this Friday night encounter will see their season record improve to (13-0), but more importantly, they will punch their ticket for the Class AA Championship game which will be played Saturday, December 6th in Charleston! Both teams are coming off impressive quarterfinal round wins as last weekend, Doddridge County traveled to Coal City, WV and upset the 4th rated Independence Patriots by a final of 38-27. For Frankfort, their win was even more impressive as they easily defeated #8 Mingo Central 50-15! The Frankfort Falcons are trying to win back-to-back Class AA titles, while the Bulldogs of Doddridge County are trying to get back to the title game for the first time since 2019 when, on December 7th of that year at Wheeling Island Stadium, the Bulldogs lost to Wheeling Central Catholic 38-21. Doddridge County has never won a Class AA Football Championship.
