Fairmont Senior improved to a 2-0 record with a commanding 80-50 victory over Elkins, driven by a career-high 27-point performance from senior guard Darrell Claybrook. Claybrook dominated the first half with 18 points and two buzzer-beating shots, helping the Polar Bears execute a critical 15-0 run that established a permanent double-digit lead. Head Coach Dave Retton praised the team's rebounding and fast-break execution, as well as Claybrook's defensive effort, while Landon Morris and Cameron Ferguson contributed 17 and 11 points, respectively. Despite a 22-point effort from Elkins’ Dreyton Boggs, Fairmont Senior controlled the game and now looks ahead to a significant Friday matchup against defending Class AAA state champion Bridgeport.
