Lincoln is one win away from the state tournament.
The Cougars jumped out early with two first-inning home runs and rode a complete game from senior AJ Bart to a 6-2 win over South Harrison in the Class AA Region II winners bracket final.
Colton Edwards led off the game with a home run, and Alex Greene followed with a two-run shot to give Lincoln a quick 4-0 advantage. Greene finished with three hits and three RBIs, while Edwards added two RBIs of his own.
After allowing a two-run homer in the second inning, Bart settled in and controlled the game the rest of the way, scattering five hits over seven innings.
Lincoln now advances to the championship round and needs just one win in two games to punch their ticket to the state tournament.
