Cabell Midland advances to MSAC final with 8-2 win over Hurricane

Cabell Midland stunned top-seeded Hurricane with an 8-2 victory in the opening semifinal of the Mountain State Athletic Conference Tournament at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston.
The Knights scored the game’s first six runs and used three multi-run innings to take control early, building a 4-0 lead through two innings. Sophomore Caleb Crawford struck out six over four strong innings, while Seth Hinkle added six more strikeouts in three innings of relief as the duo combined to hold Hurricane to just three hits.
Cade Johnson and Braylon Wing each posted multi-hit games for Cabell Midland, while Andrew Lofan drove in two runs in the statement win.
With the victory, Cabell Midland advances to Saturday’s MSAC Championship Game against the winner of St. Albans vs. Spring Valley.
